Presented in Istanbul on 10–11 April 2026, The Opera Locos brought one of Spain’s most celebrated musical comedy productions to the stage of the Lütfi Kırdar Congress Center.
Created by the internationally acclaimed theatre company Yllana, this award-winning production reimagines the world of opera through humour, physical theatre and unexpected musical encounters. Combining beloved operatic masterpieces with iconic pop and rock classics, The Opera Locos delivers an entertaining performance that appeals to audiences of all generations.
Performed by five exceptional singing actors, the production moves effortlessly between La Traviata, Madama Butterfly and contemporary hits by artists such as Whitney Houston and Bob Marley, creating a vibrant theatrical experience where virtuoso vocal performance meets comedy, movement and musical surprise.

Created and directed by Joe O’Curneen and David Ottone, The Opera Locos playfully reinvents the conventions of opera by bringing together classical arias with rock, pop and contemporary music.
