Following a ten-year absence, Cirque du Soleil returned to Istanbul with its internationally acclaimed production OVO, presented at the Ülker Sports and Event Hall from 21 to 24 May 2026.
Inspired by the fascinating world of insects, OVO invites audiences into a vibrant ecosystem where movement, transformation and the cycle of life unfold through breathtaking acrobatics, choreography, live music, innovative stage technology and spectacular costume design. Named after the Portuguese word for “egg,” the production celebrates birth, renewal and the extraordinary diversity of nature through Cirque du Soleil’s signature visual language.
Since its world premiere in Montreal in 2009, OVO has toured more than 40 countries, captivating millions of spectators worldwide and establishing itself as one of Cirque du Soleil’s most energetic and visually ambitious productions.
The Istanbul engagement featured an international touring company of 102 professionals representing 25 countries, including 53 performers, whose extraordinary acrobatic artistry and physical precision transformed the arena into an immersive theatrical experience.

Beyond the Stage
The Istanbul engagement extended beyond the performances themselves.
As part of Türkiye’s Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day celebrations on 19 May, Cirque du Soleil artists participated in a series of public appearances across the city, meeting young people and bringing the spirit of OVO into Istanbul’s public spaces. These special encounters reflected the company’s commitment to connecting with local communities throughout its international tours.

A Large-Scale International Production
Arriving directly from performances in Greece, the production travelled to Istanbul with 21 trucks carrying stage equipment, technical infrastructure and costumes.
The rapid installation demonstrated the remarkable logistical scale and technical sophistication that define Cirque du Soleil’s global touring productions, highlighting the precision and coordination required to deliver a world-class live entertainment experience.
Across eight performances between 21 and 24 May 2026, OVO welcomed thousands of spectators, marking another memorable chapter in Cirque du Soleil’s long-standing relationship with Turkish audiences.
